The goal of this work is to introduce possibilities of a group-to-group communication based on the AccessGrid technology (or a similar technology), design and implement a full-featured video-conference room.
- Comparison of few videoconferencing solutions.
- Comparison of few protocols and codecs.
- Examples and comparison of pre-AG3 bridging solutions.
- Analysis and description of Linux-only AccessGrid node.
- Implementation of SharedMPlayer - shared application which provides shared media player functionality based on open-source MPlayer.
- Implementation of StreamVNC - an application which allows streaming and recording of VNC display using MJPEG codec.
As an essential part of the Thesis we provide set of tools which are referenced from the document. All applications have been provided under some flavor of open-source licence. The green icon denotes our favourite applications.
